HCC’s boiler course covers
all aspects of heating systems, and building science, including comprehensive
information on: burners, boilers, controls, distribution systems, domestic hot
water, energy conservation and more. In addition to classroom lectures,
extensive reference materials are distributed to students and a field visit to
a boiler room is scheduled. HCC’s boiler course is particularly oriented
toward small multiple dwelling buildings common to New York City.
The instructor for the course, Jeffrey
Eichenwald, is a noted teacher and heating consultant in the New York
metropolitan area. With over 20 years experience in the construction and
heating industry, he has taught for many organizations including; Housing
Conservation Coordinators, Urban Homesteading Assistance Board (UHAB), The
Enterprise Foundation, NYS Weatherization Program, and Pronto Gas Heating
Supply Company.
