The
following is a list of classes that prepare students to take Fire Department tests as
individually described below.
STA
GUARANTY: Should you fail to pass the test the first time, you may retake the
course for free. (One time offer only).
The class
size is never more then 11 students, which provides for more personalized
training. The group will learn not just how to take the test and cover material
on the test, but also gain knowledge on how the two systems work.
Students
will receive a reference letter for the Fire Department with recommendations from STA
for taking the test.
Note:
The cost of these classes is for class and materials. This does not include FDNY fees of $25.00 to take each test.

Preparation for FDNY
Certificate of Fitness for Z 00 Sprinkler and Standpipe.

Total
of 9 hrs. Total Cost is $95.00 for members and $175.00 for non members.

Deposit of $30.00 prior to class is

Note: This cost is for class and
Materials. This does not include FDNY $25.00 fee.
Students at course completion may take with confidence the New York
Fire Department test for Certificate of Fitness for Sprinkler (city main
supply) and / or Sprinkler (gravity tank).
These two Fire Dept Certificates are important for most New York City
Superintendents.
The class is broken into three sections, 3 hrs each. If students need
more time, extra time will be given without extra cost.
Students will be provided with the necessary forms they can use on the job
to log all records of inspections as required by the Fire Department.

This Fire Department Certificate is important for most New York City Superintendents who
are operating, or may operate in the future, heavy oil (number 6 oil) burners.
The class is broken into two sections, 3 hours each.

This class explains the main functions of building
systems such as:
Heating: Steam systems such as: One pipe, two pipe,
vacuum systems and hot water heating systems.
Cooling: Absorption and compressor type central air
conditioning systems, cooling tower operations.
Hot water: Different ways how hot water is made and
distributed
Elevators: Elevator systems will be discussed and
new codes as well as maintenance issues
Plumbing: Basic plumbing systems of buildings and
how the water is circulated in low rise and high rise buildings.
Drainage and venting will also be explained and discussed.
